Rahu and Ketu are the north and south nodes of the moon. They show the intersecting point between the Earth, the Sun and the Moon. It is where shadows are created that we see as an eclipse on Earth.

Have you ever noticed that everyone you meet is "a little crazy and unbalanced" in some way? (hopefully they are just "a little crazy" - some are certified "nuts") Well, the part of each person that is a little crazy and unbalanced in some way is shown astrologically by the north and south nodes. These are the parts of ourselves that feel unbalanced, because they are not of this Earth. They are deep, revolutionary, spiritual forces within us. They are incredibly powerful yet can be disturbing at the same time. They are symbolized by a serpent. That serpent can bite you, or its venom can be a powerful elixir.

Everyone has the nodes somewhere in their chart -- in certain signs, in certain houses, and associating with certain planets. As a very spiritually oriented Vedic astrologer, I spend a lot of time discussing nodal affects with my clients. They are some of the most powerful forces in the astrological chart - because they amplify whatever they are associating with - pushing toward their highest spiritual goal.

Life in The Multi-Verse

Because the Nodes are Multidimensional - the part of us that is not in the body - we often don't feel in control of our mind or our life when under the influence of the nodes - or in the areas of life that the notes affect. (see "a little crazy and unbalanced" above). Yet, there is a very powerful creative possibility in this. Because you see, the truth is, we are not of this Earth. We are living on earth right now, in a physical form, but the deepest part of who we are is an interdimensional, infinite being.

Most deep spiritual insights have the nodes prominent. Our awareness and insight expands at a pace that exceeds our sensory input when we are under nodal influences. This accelerated insight is what feels strange to us, because we generally measure progress and insight based on what comes through our senses and nervous system. However, the nodes honor their own rules - their own revolutionary laws.

Who am I:

My Experiences With The Nodes:

When I was born the nodes were very prominent in my first and seventh houses and joined Mercury, Venus and the Sun. I was born only four days before a lunar eclipse. This happened in the sign of Gemini, a sign of communication.

I grew up with a severe stuttering problem. The words would come so fast that I couldn't get them out. There was a very deep psychological pain caused by this stuttering problem that made me feel very isolated and alone. I eventually learned meditation and how to calm down my mind.

I now make a living communicating with others - whereas before I was petrified to open my mouth and very insecure around others. 

The anxiety about communication pressure is still there, but handling that difficult experience taught me that a creative possibility exists. In fact, i get the greatest joy in life by communicating with others. When I stutter now, I just keep on going. It is nothing.
